We are hiring!
The Gage lab is looking to hire a MS student to be co-advised by Peter Balint-Kurti, with the USDA ARS, to work on a project using UAV imagery to predict disease severity in maize. Due to the short timeline of a MS, we’d really like to bring someone on who has some amount of existing computational experience. They don’t need to be a pro, but some programming/data wrangling experience is a huge head start.
This person would need to be in the Plant Pathology program for their MS degree, but there are opportunities to lean heavily into the ML/computational side of things, the field-based/breeding side of things, or the pathogen side of things, depending on what interests them!
If interested, please reach out to Joe (jlgage@ncsu.edu) and Peter (pjbalint@ncsu.edu) with a description of your goals or research interests and why you think you may be a good fit for this position.
We are always on the lookout for independent and motivated researchers to join the lab! Prospective undergrads, graduate students, and postdocs are encouraged to contact Joe (jlgage@ncsu.edu) with a description of their goals or research interests and why they want to work with this group.
